Mutani's Pocket came alive when founder,  Simone Smillie noticed a gap in the U.S. market. At the time, she couldn't access vibrant and creative pieces that represented the East African culture. 
Mutani's Pocket has slowly but steadily carved a niche for itself, and it is always exciting to be featured on various media for the work we've put in to empower street vendors from East Africa.
